Learning Unreal Engine 3 - UE3 Editor - Index:
In my opinion, this is probably the best place to start if you're a beginner to the Unreal Editor.  Do a few of the tutorials at the top, and take it slow.  You should get the hang of things before long!

On Mirror's Edge Modding Forum:
This is where I and several other modding/mapping people hang out.  If you're stuck, have something to share, or just want to read, come by and look around!

UT3ModHome:
This is the official Unreal Tournament 3 developer/mod site, and it has a lot of excellent information. Note that red links are only available to developers who have licensed the engine, however, so just stick with the black links. Below are a few specific tutorials on the site, to give you an idea

UT3ModHome:  Materials Tutorial:
If you want to mess with making your own materials or manipulating existing ones, take a look at this one!

UT3ModHome:  Editor Keyboard Shortcuts:
I -just- realized this was available on the website!  I haven't verified that all the buttons are correct, but it's a helpful resource.  I will try to make my own reference for the Mirror's Edge editor key mappings, later on.

UT3ModHome:  Matinee User Guide:
User's guide to Matinee, the system used to let you do animations like moving doors or sliding blocks.

UT3ModHome:  Kismet User Guide:
User's guide to Kismet, a scripting system for the unreal engine.  Also look around the main UT3ModHome page for more Kismet information.

UT3 Tutorial Index | IceCreamYou:
Tutorials for TONS of different topics, from beginning level design and using the editor on upwards!  Lots and lots of links are here.

UT3 Level Design:  Resources:
Lots MORE Unreal Tournament 3 tutorials, resources, and links, including video tutorials!  These tutorials are about UT3 but may still be helpful for Mirror's Edge.

Unreal Mapping Resources:
Need some free textures, meshes, or other resources?  See what you can find on this site.

From Textures to Materials in Unreal Engine 3:
I haven't tried this tutorial, but if you are wanting to make your own textures or materials to use in maps, you might take a look at it.

CGTextures - The world's largest free texture site:
I haven't tried using any of these textures, but if you're looking for some free resources for your map, this MIGHT be helpful.  Be warned that you may need to convert to a material first or do other processing.

Epic Games Forums - Unreal Tournament 3 Maps/Mods:
Pretty much all UT3-related posts, but you might still find helpful information.

Epic Games Forums - Gears of War Maps/Mods:
Same as above, except for Gears of War (2?).

Beyond Unreal Forums:
Forums with lots of posts on mapping and modding.  If you dig around, you can see lots of questions people working on maps are asking, and ask some yourself (nicely of course)!

By the way, you will probably encounter overlap looking through the above sites, since many of them reference the same tutorials (i.e. hourences or Waylon's).  If you have any suggestions for links, or if you don't want your site linked, just email me.  My address is gtschemer at gmail.com.
